Bought this a few years ago and temporarily mounted it indoors to a standing floor lamp. Picked up 4 of the 5 major networks that broadcast off 2 towers (San Bruno and Sutro) in the S.F. Bay Area that are 29 miles away from me around 70-90% signal quality. Ended up cancelling Dish, but reused their existing J-pole dish mount to mount this antenna to a second story roof. Antenna uses wing nuts to clamp onto the dish mounting pole. And now I pull in my ABC, CBS, FOX, and CW stations (broadcasting off Sutro) at 100%. And my NBC (broadcasting off San Bruno) at 75-82% fluctuating signal quality. Works great with my SiliconDust HDHomeRun PVR setup.Bought a second one to install on my Mom's single story home which is 34 miles away from the San Bruno and Sutro towers. Only pulling in signal strength at 76% on the major stations. This is a great buy if you can mount it at a 2-story building height and are under 30 miles away from your broadcasting towers. If you're over 30 miles away, this directional antenna starts losing signal. Your mileage definitely varies depending on your distance and line of site to your local broadcasting towers and the height that you mount it at.

Like many people, I got tired of my cable provider increasing charges and most of all, I had enough of paying for channels I seldom watched. So, I researched the digital television transmitters (DTVs) nearest to my location, and decided to go with an antenna. The first one I bought it’s an indoor antenna, that works pretty well, it got me 21 channels, up to 40 miles from where I live. This made me greedy, I wanted more. I set the first antenna for my children’s television, and I ordered this antenna for me. I’m very pleased with it. It’s easy to set up, and honestly, I think that is well built considering the price. And the most important thing is that it got me 35 channels that are transmitted from more than 61 miles. I’m getting all the major networks channels (ABC, CBS, FOX, CW, PBS) plus a bunch of channels I didn’t know existed. Some are international, broadcasted in English, The programing is from France, Japan and some other country I still need to figure out, but I have news 24/7 without having to pay extra.

I live 50 miles from where the broadcast towers are located in my area, so I ordered this antenna to catch weak UHF signals and to supplement my ancient attic antenna. The antenna was delivered well packed and in perfect condition - others have commented that the antenna was light weight or flimsy, but I feel the antenna is built pretty sturdy. I installed the antenna above my my old attic antenna and used a Combiner (Linear 2534 Channel Plus 4-Way Splitter/Combine) to join the two, then into a 8-Port Bi-Directional Cable TV HDTV Amplifier Splitter Signal Booster with Passive Return (Reliable Cable Products). Before the install, UHF signals were weak and sketchy. Afterwords the improvement was 100 percent better. When "Cutting the Cable", it is important that you have a VHF antenna AND a UHF antenna and that they are properly directed toward the broadcast towers. It is also important to note that with a Combiner you can have several antennas pointed in different directions (for different towers) and thereby gather the most signals. The signal booster bumps the combined UHF/VHF signals for a strong, clean delivery to your HDTV. I use mine with a Tivo Bolt and HDTV. nice Luck, I hope it works for you.

Well, I've had this antenna for few years now. In the beginning it worked great, so I would have given it 5 stars! I am about 38 miles away from most stations I want to watch, and this antenna was very nice and saved me a lot of money by not having to pay for cable or satellite. I was able to watch most channels, krisp and clear. Even though in some cases I only got 30% or so of the signal, the (digital) image still looked clear and attractive. But the love story was not to last, unfortunately. Slowly slowly bad weather, rain etc, would every so often show a quick artifact. After about 3 years or installation, I lost a few channels (Los Angeles area channels 7, 9, 11). So I bought a different antenna and went up on the roof to replace this one. I found that some of the connections were rusted, and the whole grill actually was completely rusted. Some of the parts are made of aluminum so they're OK even though they're coated with a layer of aluminum oxide. So in conclusion, while the design is nice, the execution is bad. They should have used aluminum, copper, or stainless steel screws and connectors - Yes, I would have paid an additional $10-$15 as it would have saved me another trip to the roof! Unfortunately I am unable to recommend this antenna, unless you rent and don't plan to take it with you - but then you might just do with an indoor antenna.

I have a bedroom that had an incoming coaxial cable from an old Dish Network setup that was still outside on the side of the house but hasn't been used in years. I needed to get some TV in there, at least local Spanish channels for my mother in law, since that's all she really watches. Rather than have the added expense of an additional Uverse box I decided I would try a nice outdoor mounted over-the-air antenna. (Months back, I had tried cheap digital "rabbit ears" in a nearby bedroom and it just didn't work as well as I wanted so I knew I wanted to take it up a notch by mounting an outdoor antenna). After reading many reviews and considering cost, I decided to go with the Eagle Aspen and it arrived in 4 days. The antenna was almost completely assembled, coming in 2 parts that I quickly finished putting together. I took off the old dishes, leaving the mounting posts. I mounted the antenna on the post and connected the coaxial connection. (The worst part of the installation was dealing with our hot midday summer sun & humidity!) I live in downtown Miami so I aimed the antenna NNW which I thought would be best for me. I then went to the bedroom and went through the menu & set-up process on the TV. I was initially worried that it might not work but then it started finding channel after channel. After some time it completed its scan and located a total of 61 channels!!! Needless to day I was very impressed with the ease of installation, the quality of the reception and the amount of channels. I should have done this years ago!

This is a great UHF antenna (most ATSC "HD" TV signals are now in the UHF band) and this antenna picks them up well. If you live urban or suburban this antenna will do the job. Don't fall for the amplified antennas - most are trash and actually make reception worse. I have installed this antenna in my own home and for 5 family/friends - not a single complaint! The trick to getting nice reception is the get the antenna up as high as practical (in an attic) or better yet OUTSIDE on a roof. Try to limit the RG6 coax run to 50ft or less. Please understand that pixalazation or "blipping" will occur on WINDY days with ANY antenna - this is due to mainly to multipath signal distortion NOT signal strength.

The antenna works great. It mounted perfectly on my fascia. I am in between two large cities that are 72 miles apart. I pick up all the channels at both locations. The clarity on my 4K TV is impressive. The 5.1 surround sound is great. I am surprised it works so well behind my big avocado tree. I aim my antenna south. I even pick up stations to the north of me using the backside of the antenna. I bought the mount and most of the components on Amazon. I mainly watch Internet streaming content, but it is nice to be able to pick up local TV when I need to do so.
