I purchased this microwave 7 months ago and used it on a regular daily basis. We were very satisfied with everything about it, until it quit working two weeks ago. The buttons worked and it "ran," but it quit heating the food. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. I knew Amazon's "window for return" had expired, but I found my booklet that the microwave came with and called the Customer Service number of Magic Chef when I read there was a one-year warranty on the product. Prior to making that phone call, I was thinking, "Who actually honors those warranties and/or even makes it easy to follow up on them?" Magic Chef does...that's who! I spoke with a friendly rep on the phone, and he asked me to email him a copy of my Amazon invoice purchase. After that, I got an Email from Magic Chef saying they would be sending me a new unit, but I had to cut the cord of my defective microwave and take a picture of it, along with the serial number on the back, and send those two pictures to Magic Chef. They provided a form to complete and postal address to mail the pictures to, and they also provided another option of sending the form and pictures via email, which is what I chose. (I liked the fact that they provided both options). Within one day of submitting my "claim form" with the attached pictures, I was notified that I would be receiving a new unit, and three days after that, my new microwave arrived at my house! The whole process, from my initial phone call to Magic Chef and then to the receiving of my new unit took only 6 days! We are so thankful they honored the warranty and gave us the new unit in such a timely manner. I saw some other reviews where people stated their units inexplicably quit working as well, and I would encourage anyone who has those issues to contact Magic Chef. Perhaps this particular model number is more prone to defects than other microwaves, but it's still one I truly like using, and I am glad we have the opportunity to continue doing so. Thank you, Magic Chef, for honoring your warranty!

I really like this microwave. Love the express cook buttons and the 30 second add buttons. Gets food very hot fast. Nice design. Great size too. Only thing I don't like is that the microwave beeps 5 times when it is done, and you can't stop it even if you open the door.

So far it has been an extremely nice choice. We love its size, and it heats everything very well, and more quickly than our previous 1100 watt unit. It takes up a fair amount of counter space, but we have plenty of space for it, and knew that before we ordered it. It runs quite quietly.

nice microwave. plenty of room for my larger items too. only thing i really dont like is that it doesnt have the 30 second timer like my old one (yeah i know, suck it up!) and the button to open/shut it is a bit hard to push.

After 20 years our Sharp microwave failed so we replaced it with this one and it works great. The only thing we miss is a beeper that reminds you your food is done.We suspect the oven makes/made noises only a dog can hear. The first time we used it our normally calm Great Dane jumped up and ran to the far side of the house. The second time she ran to another corner of the house. It got to the point that when we opened the oven door she would take off. We don't know if it was pain, fear, or both that made her react. It has been a week now and she has returned to near normal, so either the oven stopped making the noise or she decided there was no point in trying to get away. I'll update this if anything changes.Update, 23 Jan 2018, less than three months after purchase. Today my wife went to reheat her coffee and the unit started smelling strongly like hot electrical equipment and smoke. We've unplugged it and are going to look for a replacement made by another manufacturer.

After unpacking and plugging it in and setting the clock I tried to heat up a cup of water. All the lights worked and it sounded like it was working but the water is as cold as when I put it in. after a few more tries I get to repack it and head for the UPS store. No more Magic Chef products for me!
