I care more about precision (consistent results) over accuracy with weight scales, since the only reason I use a scale is to monitor trends, not absolute values. So, I can't comment on the accuracy of the scale, but it gives consistent readings (I actually purchased this model because it's used at my dentist's office and I liked it).Another plus is that it uses regular AAA batteries. But the main thing I like about it is that it has a very quickly updating display (probably 10+ times per second). So you can watch the number after the decimal point fluctuate rapidly if you're not standing completely still. Pretty useful when compared to scales that don't show anything and just spit out a final reading. From what I've seen, and I *could be wrong*, the scale also does not cache recent results like most others do. I think this is a plus because I want a fresh reading every time I step on. I do not want previous readings to influence the current one. If anything, the caching that most scales do seems to be to mislead users into thinking they are more precise than they truly are.

I've had this scale for 4 years now and about all I can do with it is track trends in my weight. If I step on and off 6 times, I can get a range of 4 pounds. I've tried it on different floor surfaces, tile and wood. It's not rocking so seems to be level. I thought a digital scale would be accurate, but this one is not. It does look nice.I posed the question to the community and received a couple of helpful tips. After changing the batteries, I'm getting a consistent reading every time, so am upgrading to five star.

This is the update. Now the scale has a mind of it’s own. My weight read out can vary nearly 2 pounds in less than 10 minutes. I’ll get on the scale and register 160 lbs. If I do that 3 or 4 times in a couple of minutes it will always be 160. If I wait 10 minutes while I shave and brush my teeth and get on the scale I can be as much 162 lbs and when I wait a for the scale to clear it will be 162 lbs every time. It could be 159 lbs. It varies. Now a 2 pound difference isn’t life changing, but it is frustrating. It also seems to have some kind of memory as the new weight reading will be repeated. Kind of disappointing, but not life changing.I highly recommend this unit and can’t think of why you should not buy one if you like a well designed scale that is not only pleasing to the eye, but quite accurate. There’s no on-off switch, just hop on get the bad news and hop off. You can do that several times in a short period of time hoping it will drop a pound or two, but that just doesn’t happen. It may vary by a tenth of a pound, but that’s rare.

I bought this Taylor scale just a month or so ago and it's now not working!! When I stand on it the numbers just keep going and going and sometimes land, but on a number that clearly is not me (e.g., 145 lbs when I am in the 190 range!! It is just not working. What should I do now?! Throw it out?

I am so happy with this scale. Each and everytime I get on its the same reading. I just received it today, I really hope its ever lasting and does not lose accuracy like my previous one.

The scale is absolutely inaccurate. It gives at least two different readings, none of which are correct

Was a little concerned about some of the reviews but this has performed well for me. Stable on repeated weighings and correlates well with my physician's office.

Needs a perfectly flat surface, and the slightest shift in weight will change the reading wildly

Sometimes if this is placed on a even a little uneven wooden floor the accuracy starts fluctuating

Experiencing same issues as others--wide swings in weight from day to day along with swings based on floor type or parts of the house.
